George Street 1892 This photograph is of No.16 George Street and was taken circa 1892. James, followed by his son, Richard, plied their trade as butchers from No.18. As Richard died in 1895 it is likely that James Bros probably succeeded the Wilds as butchers.
George Street 1982 Shop fronts have now changed as has the style of shops - no more independent traders just corporate traders.
