SIPON FARMHOUSE
The main residence of the Wild family in Sipson until the late 1800's. The wall of The Vineries can be seen on the right of the photo. After Thomas IV vacated the farmhouse his partner R. R. Robbins took up residence until he moved into Hollycroft, a large house in Sipson. The farmhouse was later demolished.

THE VINERIES
Built by Thomas IV it stood on the High Street opposite the junction with Harmondsworth Lane. Exactly when it was built is unknown. The family story is that Thomas' first wife Elizabeth Hunt did not like the low ceilings of the old farmhouse so Thomas had this house built for her. This would date it as the late 1800's. It was demolished in 1970 with, I might add, the full blessing of the family who considered it rather a monstrosity!

INGLENOOK
Built for Thomas V when he married Elizabeth Rayner in 1906. When his father died in 1932 he moved into The Vineries and Thomas VI took Inglenook on. He then married in 1933. Inglenook still stands a short way down Sipson Lane from its junction with Sipson Road. It is now a children's day care centre. I have wonderful memories of visiting my grandmother and running round the house trying to get all the servant call bells ringing at the same time!
